Asked Tuning Questions Q. Which Octane Booster
in your experience is best? A. We actually don’t recommend any of the locally
made Octane Boosters due to our experience with them and we are talking real
world data, logging the knock directly from Evo’s
computer at 1.3bar boost. Also given the fact that there is no factual
evidence showing the actual increase in the octane of treated
Fuel but more importantly no real evidence showing that it is
worth the money. We cannot given our experience with them recommend that
people spend their hard earned money on any of the locally made boosters. However in our Testing we did find that
two imported Octane Boosters do work very well, namely Torco
and NF Octane Booster. We in our own cars use Witches Brew
it’s a recipe that the Opel Turbo and Subaru guys
have been using for years to reliably and predictably increase the octane of
the base Fuel so that they can run high Boost on their cars. The formula is
very simple: 50% Toluene 25% Xylene 25% Methanol *50ml Acetone (we add this to improve
the burn and atomisation of the fuel mix) *50ml Two Stroke Oil (we add this for
lubrication as the Tol & Xyl
are very dry aromatics) How we mix it: 5L Witches Brew + 40L 95 = 98 Octane 5L Witches Brew + 20L 95 = 100 Octane 5L Witches Brew + 15L 95 = 102 Octane That’s pretty much how it works and Witches
Brew also makes the Fuel mix more resistant to knock because its slows the
flame speed down... You can buy Witches Brew from Triangle
